I Vote For A Better India

Before you scrap this off saying I am tired listening to this, I request you to please spend five minutes to read it completely. I myself did not know these facts and got surprised after knowing them.

First, why should one vote?
Ahh, how does it matter with just single vote of mine when votes of lakhs of people are "purchased". This proprtion is really incorrect.
Take example of the one who is facing corruption charges - Suresh Kalmadi. He won against his opponent by a whopping 28,000 votes last time. That also means only 14,000 of his voters, if turned against him, he would have lost the game. It is ONLY 14,000 votes.
Also, the number of eligible people from his constituency who *DID NOT* cast their votes were 16 Lakhs. So, if a very small portion of this lot had turned out for voting, he would have lost.
So, it just needs few more educated people to vote in order to get good governance. Not lakhs.

Second, it takes a lot of time to get registered for a voter id. Either I don't have one OR I have it registered in my native place and it takes a lot of pain to get it transferred to the city I stay in.
An NGO called Parivartan has solved this problem by gathering all the information to get this done successfully and listed in a very very easy way at http://vote-easily.weebly.com/ It is presented so easily and clearly that it takes not more than 20 minutes to get it done. If we can spend 3 hrs to watch a movie, why not 20 minutes to register for a proper voter id?
Some steps are easily listed for Pune-ites, but they also gave easy pointers to find the relevant information for non-Pune people.

For the upcoming general elections, if you want to register for a voter id OR get it transfered, last date for it is 17th October 2013 ie. less than a month. Govt. will not publish TV ads to spread this date. The less number of educated people vote, the easy it is to manage/purchase the uneducated voters to get a majority.

Please, please take time and follow the procedure. For any more information, you can contact me back.

Lastly, vote for the right person who can make India better. Don't be partial here.
